The Qaanaaq Thriller

The 6th grade have been working hard together with Hansinguaq and Angutitsiaq. They have thought up a story, written it in Greenlandic and, with some help, it has been translated to English.

As the fastelavn celebration is almost upon us it has been decided that we must dress up to fit the description of the characters in the story. We will have giants, witches, hermits and gut stealers! There will be other characters too but we will show them first after Monday - fastelavn.

The 6th graders have now joined the 7th grade in preparing a dance video to the Michael Jackson song: Thriller. Watch this space for more developments!

English Teachers from Nuuk!

Angutitsiaq and Hansinguaq are teaching English in grades 6 and 7. They also teach the 6th and 7th graders sport on Thursdays.

Both teachers are student teachers from the Teacher Training College in Nuuk and we are really excited to have them teach in Akulliit! They are both very enthusiastic and working hard!

Ilinniartitsisoq praktikkertoq

Torsted School

We will soon be writing to Torsted School in Horsens, Denmark. They have already begun with a website where they have written letters and posted pictures for us to look at. You can see their website here.

Body Language

We finished our crazy English lesson by spelling words with our bodies. This word is "MY".

"NAME"

"YEARS"

"MUSIC"

"CLOCK"

"TABLE"

"THULE"

And "POLAND" because we are writing to the school in Gardna Wielka!

Crazy English Lesson!

Today we had some fun in English.

We had lots of activities...

...with different challenges...

...both under and on top of the tables...

...on the floor...

...with bricks...

...paper and pencils...

...in teams...

... all over the place!
