Learning to Fly!

In our natural science lessons for 5th and 6th grade we are learning to fly! Actually, we are learning about gravity, wind and design. Building our own parachutes we are finding out the best size and shape of chute to safely fall to the ground. Here, Birgithe experiements with a small, triangualr-shaped parachute.

Serious? Yes! This is serious fun! We have more video and pictures to show you, so be sure to return to see more of what we are doing! Aluk lets go an octagonal-shaped chute.

Sometimes the unexpected happens ... Nicoline's parachute flew UP instead of floating DOWN. Her parachute flew up, over the school, and landed in the playground close to our neighbour's garden!

Now that's science in action! ;O)
