Blueberry Picking 2011

We were out picking blueberries last week!

 

Gertie and Nipinnguaq from 5th grade collected quite a few.

 

The berries are ripe and more are on the way.

 

 Chris, a teacher, borrowed a bag of berries for the photo!

 

Akisooq, class teacher for 7th grade, did the same! ;O)

Bibiane (5th grade) and Tuparnaq (6th grade) cut up apples to add to the jam.

Marie-Louise from 7th grade stirred the blueberries and apple pieces.

Martha (5th grade) and Ungaaq (7th grade) made the bread rolls.

Tuparnaq took pictures for the blog.

 More bread making!

Pipaluk (6th grade), Najannguaq, Zella and Panipak (all 4th grade) enjoyed

fresh-baked bread rolls and blueberry and apple jam!

Thanks also to Dorte, Ilaitsuk, Karen and Rasmine (all teachers) for a great week!

Getting air!

While out picking blueberries the kids from 7th grade decided to get some air!

It is good to get outside while we can. In only a few months time it will be dark, cold and polar bears will be lurking about!

So forigve us using a bit f web space to get some air! ;O)

New faces at Avanersuup Atuarfia

Two new teachers have joined us at Avanersuup Atuarfia this year.

We are pleased to welcome Tobias from Denmark. Tobias will be working with the older students from grades 8-10 in Angajullit.

We are also pleased to announce that Akisooq from Manitsoq/Denmark will be working with us in Akulliit!

They are both very welcome and we are looking forward to a good year!

Første skoledag på Avanersuup Atuarfia!

Vi havde en hyggelig skolestart med 12 nye elever til førsteklasse.

Det blæst lidt men det forhindrede os ikke I at fejre den.

Eleverne kom i deres traditionel dragt m.m. og alle iførte rygsække!

Efter velkomst udenfor skolen gik de nye elever, deres familie og lærere ind i klassen for at lære klassen at kende.

School starts on Monday the 8th August 2011
